View MoreLaparoscopic Surgery, also called Diagnostic Laparoscopic is a surgical procedure used for examining the organs present inside the abdomen. This is a minimally invasive procedure in which only small incisions are made. For the procedure, an instrument named laparoscope is used for looking at the abdominal organs. A laparoscope is a thin, long tube that has a high-resolution camera and high-intensity light at the front. This instrument is inserted in the abdominal wall through the incisions. As it is moved inside, the images are sent to the video monitor using the camera. Through this, the doctor is able to see the organs inside the body in real-time. This procedure can also be used for obtaining biopsy samples.
All the patients will be receiving specialized assessments and the latest treatments accompanied by post-operative care, regular follow-ups, and medications. The reason why this is preferred over the traditional open surgery is that it has faster recovery time and shorter hospital stay; less bleeding and pain after and procedure; and fewer scars. The department focuses on the contents of the abdomen including the stomach, esophagus, colon, liver, small bowel, appendix, pancreas, bile ducts, and gallbladder
